THE ALEXANDER WORK

Ruth Davis BA MSTAT AmSAT

I was first inspired by the ideas of F.M. Alexander whilst studying Performing Arts in Leicester. I worked extensively in London and began my three year professional teacher training course there with Shoshana Kaminitz.  I completed my three year training in New York with Rivka Cohen and received my professional qualification from the American Society of Alexander Teachers. I am a member of Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique in the U.K.

My work includes one on one lessons, presentations and workshops both in private and corporate settings.  I regularly engage in ongoing professional development not only in the Alexander Technique but with associated disciplines that seek to broaden the understanding of the psycho-physical unity.  I am especially interested in the “Movement Intelligence” work of Ruthy Alon.

I am registered with the British Association of Performing Arts Medicine and have been working with members of the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra.  I am currently working with therapists at Lush in Poole.

I also teach classical piano to diploma level - please see www.pianolife.org
